ANNOUNCEMENT!
STEFAN GOLDMANN
IS THE NEXT HNY GUEST!

Having released for top notch labels like Classic and Ovum since 2001, Stefan Goldmann is one of Germany’s most respected producers and DJs today – especially after his ground breaking releases for Innervisions and Perlon. Creating an unique style of house beyond deep and future forward techno beyond minimal, Stefan has clearly set an unmistakeable trademark of his own on the map of electronic music today. With his meticulous production and focus on quality he’s been running ahead of the pack, and being enthusiastically rinsed by top notch DJs from all accross the board. His track Sleepy Hollow on Innervisions – also featuring a b-side together with Germany’s most wanted: Ame - attracted key players as diverse as Carl Craig, Garnier, Villalobos, Hawtin, Steve Bug, Luciano and Gilles Peterson playing it in their sets and making it a hit all over the place. It was also voted being one of the top 10 tracks of 2006 by the readers of Germany's Groove and De:Bug magazines. Sleepy Hollow clearly set the standard in 2006 together with the other few anthems like Audion’s “Mouth To Mouth” and Carl Craig’s remix for Theo Parrish “Falling Up”.

A string of highly acclaimed remixes (Romboy & Chelonis R. Jones, Blackjoy, IT, Kenny Hawkes, Sideshow and coming up: DJ Gregory) for labels like Faya Combo, Freerange, Classic, MFF and Systematic also established Stefan as one of Europe’s most in demand remixers. Some of his rather experimental works have been recently added to the IMEB Phonoteque at the National Library of France and exclusively featured by Richie Hawtin in his DE9 Transitions DVD mix on Minus as well as being an integral part of his digital live sets.

Furthermore in 2006 a now legendary series of 6 DJ sets by Stefan was commisioned and broadcasted by London’s Lektric Forms Radio. Other artists on the station included Ivan Smagghe and Jennifer Cardini. In his radio sets, Stefan mixed anything from John Zorn to LFO. His club sets are equally challenging, representing a broad range of outstanding dance music instead of sticking to a narrow conception of one of today’s subgenres. Main spot frenzy is as much a strength of Stefan as his early morning sets at Berlin’s Panorama Bar.

In 2007 Stefan finally founded his own label Macro, with its debut “Aurora”. Macro was created as a boutique label showcasing very few artistically outstanding, carefully designed releases a year. The first release went straight to #4 on Groove Mag’s Top50 and received overwhelming support by everyone from Hawtin to Luciano and Lazarus, to Kruder and Steve Bug. Besides running the label and producing new material for Innervisions and Perlon, Stefan is DJing all over Europe, with upcoming tours of the US and Japan.
